Tabacal bike tour

(Starting from Domos - Finca la Esperanza)

We begin our journey on the road to Tabacal, enjoying a view of the Chicamocha Canyon and the cliffs of La Mojarra village to our right. Afterward, we start a technical descent through rocky terrain and paved roads, followed by a relatively gentle 20-minute uphill climb leading to the Chicamocha National Park cable car station. After this, we turn left and take the main road for 10 minutes to reach our first stop, a viewpoint of the Chicamocha Canyon that allows us to see the vastness of the canyon and the road leading to Bogotá via the route to San Gil.

 

We continue the route to face a steep 300-meter ascent, where we turn right through a series of residential complexes before starting another 15-minute technical descent. It is advisable to descend very slowly on the paved road as it has a significant incline. After this descent, we'll reach another viewpoint that offers a view of two sides of the canyon and its magnificent rivers and canyons.

 

Next, we will continue our descent to Hacienda El Roble, passing through the Campestre Condominium and then arriving at Café Mesa de los Santos. After this, we will take the main road towards the farmers' market to reach the main road leading to the cable car station, where we will start our return journey to the starting point.

 

Remember that the descents we rode before are the ones we will need to climb to reach our destination.

Recommendations:

• Use sunscreen and mosquito repellent.

• Eat before starting the tour, and bring something to eat during the journey.
